On the hunt [open]

Demblem crouched behind a ridge. He crept forward on his belly until he could see over the top of it. A herd of mule deer was grazing in the meadow just beyond. Perfect! He backed up and used the ridge to conceal him as he got into a better closer position. There was an elderly deer near the edge of the herd, that one was his target. He glanced around to see if any of his pack members were near by. It always helped to have the pack there when taking down larger prey.

The smell of food was absolutely alluring. The she-wolf hadn't eaten for days and her stomach gave an audible rumble - the pups inside of her must be suffering greatly from her inability to scrounge up more than crows and various things that were easy for a single wolf to catch. She'd been busy concentrating on running away and staying out of reach of her vicious mate, hunting was something in the back of her mind.

The battered wolf crept forward, but froze when she spotted another wolf. She was just about to turn and run away, but her legs simply wouldn't do it. She did not have the energy to run anymore, she barely had the energy to walk. She slowly sank into the snow and gave a whimper. Slowly the she-wolf closed her eyes and waited for death to take her and her pups. These wolves? They'd kill her...and she couldn't flee.

Demblem was completely focused on the herd and the she wolf was down wind from him. He was shocked when he looked over and saw her. Instantly he grew defensive. He wasn't very tolerant of other wolves outside his pack, no matter what the circumstances. As much as the pack needed food that would have to wait. He could find the herd later if they got spooked they usually stayed within Black River's territory.

The black wolf walked closer to the she-wolf his teeth barred and a growl in this throat. He could tell she was expecting pups but that didn't make a difference to him. He was unusually cold hearted towards loner wolves. "Get off our territory," he growled his voice a clear warning that he would attack, if she did not obey.

[Megan]

Luka wasn't far behind Demblem when the wind rustled through, bringing a new scent over the valley towards him. Like his Second-in-Command, the alpha turned briskly and followed the scent trail to the lone female. His stomach rumbled with the thought that they could have been eating by now. An elderly deer would feed the entire pack but now, here he was, dealing with a roaming female. He left Demblem speak briefly first before he interrogated the female wolf. "What are you doing on Black River's territory?" Before even giving her a chance to reply, he continued on, "well? Come now, I don't have all day to waste on the likes of you." The black wolf was being harsh but what did she even have to say for herself? She was nothing but skin and bones practically.

He had to think of the Pack first, pups and his mate. Unlike Demblem, he had failed to notice her early pregnancy. He could have cared less about a pregnant female when they were not welcomed. That was just how the packs worked and when things like this came along they tended to stir up trouble. He only hoped that they could catch that deer later in the evening to feed them all.

Celestial forced herself to open her eyes, turning them upward to look at Demblem. The wolf was angry and he had every right to be, she was trespassing. She didn’t mean to, all she wanted to do was run away from her mate. She’d gladly leave these wolves to their business if it were possible. The she-wolf attempted to shove herself to her paws, but she fell back to the ground with a grunt. She had multiple bite wounds, which had opened and started to bleed. She also had many bruises and possibly a few broken ribs. Her stomach was extended with pups and bloating from lack of food. She was not in good shape.

”I…I can’t,” she whispered in response to Demblem. Her legs would not support her weight. Death…was it finally here to claim her? It could not be, she had lives inside of her belly that needed her! Another wolf came up to her and she knew that she was going to die now. One wolf she might have talked her way out of, but two? They’d slaughter her. Lowering her head in defeat, she mumbled an answer, ”I didn’t know I was on your territory…I just wanted to get away…I didn’t want to trespass. Please, you can’t kill me…I’m pregnant. I’m begging for your mercy. My mate…he…” she couldn’t say it. What if he was there? What if he was hiding in the shadows and waiting to kill her too? Squeezing her eyes shut once more, she rested her head in the snow and sighed. Perrhaps death would be better…

Demblem didn't seem to have any sympathy for Celestial at all. He could tell she was in bad shape but you didn't survive by taking in every pity case that crossed your path. The second in command could be rather harsh, which probably was more of a fault than a virtue.

"Oh I think you can. You managed to get here in the first place. How do we know this isn't a trap of sorts. I don't show mercy to anyone, mercy is a weakness!" he growled unrelenting. Something inside him told him this was wrong to treat her like this. She clearly was not well and needed help. He shrugged that off though. He didn't trust many wolves and wasn't about to open himself to hurt if he trusted the she-wolf. He lunged for her, but instead of attacking he had gone for her neck, specifically the scruff of her neck. He grabbed her neck and started dragging her out of the territory. No need to make a mess inside their territory.

[Megan]

Something inside Luka snapped and he let out an angry growl. "Drop her, Demblem!" He snarled, lunging for his Second-in-Command. He didn't exactly know why he was defending her, she didn't deserve it after all. His fur stood on end as he attempted to drag Demblem off of the lone female. "Stop it!" He snarled once more, they could interrogate her further before rushing to a decision of murdering. Luka would have to be wary of Demblem, the male wolf was ruthless and extremely territorial. It almost reminded him of his younger days when he challenged his father.

Glancing down at the female his eyes narrowed as he stood in front of her. If Demblem was going to attack anyone, it would have to be Luka himself and face his own consequences. "What pack are you? What about your mate? Are you from Nightfall here to distract us?" He demanded to know. He felt how Demblem did about her but his actions were less hostile.

Demblem yelped when Luka lundged for him. He abandoned the she-wolf dropping her when Luka dragged him away from her. Why was Luka doing this! She was a trespasser and had to be taken care of! When Luka let go of him though he did not attempt to get at the she-wolf again or fight with his leader. Instead his ears flicked back and he took a submissive stance. He respected Luka and trusted her, he wouldn't disobey once he knew what she wanted. "I'm sorry Luka," he said quietly.

He watched the pregnant wolf closely but made no aggressive move now. Luka was very right to be wary of him. He waited to hear what the she-wolf would answer. He wasn't sure of Luka's intentions but he seemed to have been put in his place now. He his gaze occasionally wandered to the surrounding area in case the she-wolf was no alone.

The growl that rippled through the area was meant to signal the arrival of Bryn. Her blue and white fur bristled with distaste for the obvious impregnant female. "What the hell are you doing on my territory." The Alpha said, her voice steely. This girl was a huge threat and every instinct inside her called out, Not Pack, Not Pack!

[Frostsoul]

Celestial ignored the male as he told her she was capable of walking. There was no sense in arguing with him, after all. It would surely seal her fate. How could she convince them she was no threat? How could they even think she was a threat to begin with? She was covered in wounds and unable to stand, surely that meant she was going to rip their throats out! Not to mention she was totally outnumbered. However, when he scruff was grabbed, she gave a yelp of shock and surprise, then a whimper of fear. He began to drag her out of the camp and she felt the scraping against of her wounds. It hurt so damn much.

When the Alpha male gave the order to stop, Celestial lifted her head weakly. Why was he protecting her? Slowly she blinked her golden eyes and took in his questions. She was obviously not accepted or anything, but she wasn’t going to be murdered. Yet. ”I have no pack. I’m a loner…my mate he…” speaking about him was painful and she lowered her head, feeling tears well up in her eyes. ”He hurt me and he’s following me. He’ll kill me if he finds me. Me and my pups.” When Luka asked about Nightfall she blinked. ”I don’t know who Nightfall is.”

When the third wolf appeared, Celestial glanced up at her with a teary stare. ”I didn’t mean to be here. Please. I just need to rest, just a little bit. Then I’ll leave you alone, I promise. I’m pregnant…please…” Celestial started to cry then. She always thought she’d be facing death gracefully and bravely, but no…she didn’t want to die. She wanted to live, to raise her pups. Even if her mate was constantly chasing her, at least she’d be alive!

Bryn's teeth were bared as she took a step forward, tail raised high as she stuck her muzzle right into Celestials face, noses only separated by a mere few inches."You mean to tell me you had no way of smelling out scent markers which have been set for so many moons that even my own parents wouldn't have remembered when we came to this land. And now your telling me that there is some sadistic blood crazed wolf out to kill not only you but your... Pups...?"

A change over came her then. Pups were to be protected. It drummed through every wolf's veins like the blood that pumped and kept them alive. Protect...Protect...Protect.

"She will stay with us." Bryn said after debating for a few minutes. "She will be kept under guard. I will personally help attend with her birthing needs. Is that understood? That means no harming her. If I find out either of you, or any member of the pack for that matter has laid one nail on her you will be out in the forest for a moon. By your self."

She was dead serious, and the firey blue glint in her eyes was dare. Either argue with her, or get hurt. Bryn turned to glance back at the female in front of her. "What is your name.

Demblem grew more alert when the she-wolf said her mate was after her. Her being here was a threat to them, her mate would most likely try to get to her which would now involve Black River. He didn't like this but Bryn had accepted her. Despite the mention of pups Demblem didn't seem to be driven by the instinct to protect them. Mainly on the fact that he didn't trust many wolves and saw no need to risk himself for those he didn't trust. It was his tactic for survival though perhaps it wasn't the best one.

"Yes Bryn," Demblem answered. He hoped Bryn knew what he was doing taking her in. He remained where he was for a moment before approaching the she-wolf. This time there was no aggression. He nudged her gently asking her to get to her paws. It would be better to take her to camp rather than leave her near the ridge and in the open. Besides in camp the healer could help treat her injuries.

Luka's gaze traveled from the new female to his mate and he backed up slightly. The only one who could tell him what to do was her and bloody hell he would let her. Bryn scared him at times and he knew she was fully fit to take him on. Pride hurt only a bit he nodded his head as if it didn't bother him."Of course, Bryn." He only let out the briefest grim smile to the female. For now, her life was spared although trust wasn't ensued with it. She would have to prove her worth here just like the rest of the pack and future pups born. He watched Demblem closely though for only a moment ago he had been ready to rip her throat out. Luka had only wished to spare her life because of the pups within - pack laws always defined protecting pups at all costs.

"We still need to hunt, she won't get fit unless she's fed and I want a patrol against the perimeter." Luka huffed, he would do it himself if it was needed. Because he was Alpha Male he thought highly of himself and that nothing could truly scare him. "You two can get her back to camp and I'll meet you back if you'd like." Of course, it was up to Bryn to decide what she wanted to do.

[Kiba Blood]

"Alright."

Leaning forward Bryn brushed her cheek against his, her tail wagging behind her. "Thank you" came the soft whisper only meant for Luka, before she turned and gently nudged the strange female. "Come now. We better get back before the temperature drops. There is a nice warm den made just for Mothers and there pups. Its warm, dry, and comfortable."

[Frostsoul]

Celestial flinched back as the Alpha she-wolf shoved her muzzle toward her. ”I didn’t realize,” she said softly. She had been far too concentrated on fleeing than checking border scents. How foolish of her! The next course of action surprised her. Not only did Bryn not order her to be murdered, she had…accepted her? Into their pack? The white wolf was at a loss for words. ”M-my name is Celestial. I…I can’t thank you enough,” she woofed.

As Demblem approached her, she shrank down in a submissive posture. He had been the one to try and drag her off the territory before. Perhaps he would disobey the Alpha and attack her anyway. But, thankfully, that wasn’t the case. He was merely helping her to her paws. Celestial struggled to her paws, swaying slightly. They nearly gave out beneath her again. But with the two wolves helping her, she was able to struggle forward. ”Thank you…”

amidst all of this a single white and black wolf was wandering threw the forest playing in the snow. He was chasing snow flakes trying to catch them in his mouth. When he saw what was going on he decided it would be best to stay out of it since it was quite intense for his young self.

Luka merely nodded his head to his mate, nuzzling her briskly before glancing around. All had been quite for a little now which was a good sign, unless they were silently being ambushed then it would be terrible. "When you have eaten, I want to know about this mate of yours, Celestial." He said to her, they would have to find him and dispose of the male wolf. The rustling of the young pup caught his attention. Trotting over, he stopped before him. "What are you doing out of camp?" He asked him, quite annoyed that some pups just never learned to remain inside of the camp at all times.

"Um I just wanted to see what was going on and I got distracted with the snow and wandered a bit to far i guess i'm sorry for wandering so far". As he looked at the male wolf a bit intimidated by the size of the wolf standing infront of him " By the way my name is raven whats yours".

"Of course your name is Raven." Bryn said with a roll of her eyes. "And everyone knows who you are." He was the trouble maker. "Dont be to mad, his tracking skills are well developed. He should have a mentor soon, and by the looks of it hunting will be his rank."

"OK i'll go back to camp" as he was walking away he turned around and asked " Who is the new wolf that you guys were talking to?" as he looked at bryn or luka for the awnser.
